Backgrounds
Generated backdrops
Backgrounds the app draws itself, with no video file to manage.
A backdrop is a background the app draws, live, rather than plays from a file. There is no video to store, no resolution to match, and no seam where a loop restarts.
Make one
In a folder under Backgrounds, choose Create → New backdrop. Three things shape it:
- Preset: the kind of movement. Each is a different piece of artwork, not a filter over the same one.
- Palette: three colours: ground, mid and highlight. Most of the character of a backdrop is here. Matching them to your theme is what makes a background belong to a look rather than sit behind it.
- Parameters: speed, scale and the rest, per preset.
Sample text draws a line of type over the backdrop while you tune it, so you are judging what the congregation will judge: whether the words are readable, not whether the picture is pretty.
Why they cost nothing
A backdrop is a preset name and a handful of numbers. It takes no disk space worth counting, it cannot be the wrong resolution for a projector, and it never shows the jump that a looping video shows.
It also travels: a theme published to the library carries its backdrops with it, and importing that theme brings them in as a folder under Backgrounds.
Using one
Backdrops sit in folders beside pictures and videos, and are shown the same way: Show as background in its menu. A backdrop only ever plays behind the words.
